The Independent described yesterday another case of evictions being part of the “preparations” to the FIFA World Cup taking place this summer in South Africa.

150 people, most of them women were evicted from a hostel neighboring the new mega-stadium at Cape Town. Many of the hostel’s residents have been living there for several years. Since the eviction some of the women, at least one of them eight months pregnant, have been sleeping on the streets.
