In the past weekend, week, in the Plaza Clairefontaine (Luxembourg), a group of activists of the organization 180 Degrees joined to echo the voices of people at the summit that will decide the future of the environment.

No passado fim-de-semana, na Praça Clairefontaine (LUxembourg), um grupo de activistas parte da organização 180 Graus Juntou-se para fazer ecoar as vozes da população na Cimeira que decide o futuro do ambiente.

Police harrasing activists in Copenhagen

Climate Justice Action, an international coalition of grass-roots organisations, representing the voices of those marginalised from the UN process (indigenous rights activists, farmers movements and environmentalists) reports illegal, “preventive”arrests in Copenhagen.

According to Kamille Hjuler, representing the network: “There is more and more willingness to trample over people’s civil liberties in order to stop
the mass civil disobedience that will take place at the summit on Wednesday. These are yet more attempts by the UN to silence any criticisms of the COP process, whether from inside or outside.”

Copenhagen’s coverage on internet

The activist media are mobilizing the best of their resources to cover the conference in Copenhagen. Since it’s impossible to list all the blog streams, I highlight just a few of them.

Excellent video blogging is being made by The uptake group, which defines itself as „(…) an alternative to mainstream media, but mostly a training resource for your average or not-so-average Joe & Jane.”

On their website http://theuptake.org/ you can get an idea of what’s really going on in Copenhagen following the conference live. In addition, you will find video interviews with activist leaders, as well as twitter conversations.
