A young Lisbon woman, living with her cats and her goldfish, glancing out of the window, watching the world go by. Introducing: Deolinda, created by one of the band members, ruling the 14 stories of the quartets „Canção ao lado“ (The Song Next Door), the first record released.
The four young musicians from Lisbon decided to bring a new music project to life.
Inspired by fado, portuguese traditional and popular music, their origin in diverse musical backgrounds such as classics, jazz, ethnical and traditional music results in the amazing mélange their music portraits.
Refreshing, for instance, that Deolinda does not use Portuguese guitar as fado would dictate. Also, their songs and lyrics are not serious and fatalistic like classic fados: instead, they largely use humor, irony (often against fado itself) and a fast, happy pace.
Now, they tour around Europe promoting their second album „Dois selos e um carimbo“ (Two Postage Stamps and one Stamp), stopping by in the „Centre culturel régional“ of Dudelange, Luxemburg. At 8 pm they invite the audience to one of their colorful, exuberant, sometimes comic performances, with nothing of fado’s heaviness and tristesse.
