Pennywise: a powerful anti-authority evening at Rockhal

“We just came from Belgium. Those guys don’t have a government for 8 months, and they’re just fine! Guys, you don’t need no fucking government – you are the government!”. The guitar player Fletcher Dragge was shouting to the audience when he presented the song “I am my own country”.

Pennywise showed up last weekend for the very first time in Luxembourg – to prove on Rockhal’s stage that punk is still a powerful weapon against capitalism, conformism and apathy.

Queesch #24 is out!

« Déconstruisons le discours patriarcal dominant » : Une nouvelle édition du magazine Queesch vient de sortir.

Le dernier numéro du magazine Queesch est sorti cette semaine. Sous le titre « Feminismus », il propose une approche des droits des femmes dans notre société, ainsi que des nouvelles sur les mouvements sociaux et émancipateurs au Luxembourg et dans le monde.

« Le mouvement féministe au Luxembourg est trop petit et sous-considéré », dit Laura Reti, une des volontaires de la Queesch. « D’apparence masculine, dénigrant les hommes, hirsute… le « stéréotype féministe » est omniprésent. Il y a beaucoup de femmes qui refusent l’étiquette féministe, même si elles défendent les droits des femmes et demandent l’égalité. »

Transgender au Luxembourg, les femmes en Afrique du Sud ou l’anti-féminisme sont d’autres textes-clé qui font partie du dossier « Feminismus » de la première Queesch de 2011.

First Queesch FM Show @ Graffiti on Radio ARA

Queesch is not only a magazine and  a homepage – From the 1st of February on Queesch FM is going on air

As the new Queesch is about Feminism, the main topic of our first emission will be the same one. We try to give different views of people concerning the equality of women and men and provide some information about the Women’s Liberation Movement in Luxembourg from its beginning to its institutionalisation nowadays.
In addition, the new Center for Ecological Learning Luxembourg (CELL) will be presented, accompanied by some Queesch News around the World and the Queesch’s Story itself and of course music – with only female voices for your ears.

So join us on Tuesday, the 1st of February at 2pm on  Graffiti/ Radio ARA (103.3 & 105,2 FM or as  Live Stream )
