Joe Glenton, sentenced for nine months for refusing to kill

Joe Glenton, British soldier who refused to stay in Afghanistan, was sentenced by the martial court to nine months imprisonment.

Glenton joined the army at the age of 22, in 2004. According to his defence counsel, Nick Wrack, Glenton was persuaded that the military was helping the local population in Afghanistan. The reality of the conflict soon undermined this belief. After his base in Helmand province had come uder rocket attack, Glenton developed a post-traumatic stress disorder.

Pour l’autodetermination des femmes

Une pétition contre le projet de réforme de la loi sur interruption de la grossesse a été lancé le mercredi, 3 Mars, par collectif “Si, je veux – pour l’autodetermination de la femme”. Dans deux jours la petition a été déjà signé par 217 personnes.

Selon le collectif, qui rassemble des personnes privées, des organisations de femmes, des groupes autodeterminés et des sections jeunes de partis politiques, la réforme proposée par le ministre de la Justice Biltgen, “ne réforme rien et s’efforce de maintenir un climat de bigoterie et d’hypocrisie, l’accusation de la femme et des obstacles à l’interruption volontaire d’une grossesse non désirée”.
