FINALLY NEW ALBUM OUT!
After the genius and so beautiful record
“Laser” (1999), monochrome has released their new Cd “ferro”, produced, recorded and engineered by Bernhard Hahn and the band itself – the album released on the the label “Trans Solar records” (Germany)! Already with the first track, called “Fällt”, monochrome steps back to the roots of their last long player “Laser”, with such a fine and clean emo post-rock sound, framed by such a beautiful female vocalist! So awesome! … Maybe one of the best songs, that they have ever produced! Second song on these 20 minutes masterwork is called “Angelfire”, a track, that had been previously released on monochrome’s “Varia” 7inch (2002), brought out on “Dim Mak Records”!
Like the first song, also this one is inspired by the whole post-rock influence, framed by so nice guitar-parts – an outcry full of emotions, full of hope, desires and wishes! So great this German band from Stuttgart… I can’t believe it! With the third song, their sound gets slower and slower … from now on, there are much more single notes than chords, that are played – the drums sound much more electronic… like on a few tracks of the “Laser”-Lp or “Radio”-Ep… but the music stays so dreamful… lost in such a different world, so far away from everything, that makes you suffer, that makes you feel bad… from now on: just close your eyes and dream… it will come true… surely… in your thoughts, in your heart, in your soul!
The fourth song “Lufkissen” is louder again, completed by some drums-samplers… but damn… the play of the normal drums sounds completely different now! This is due to the fact, that monochrome actually plays with a new drummer and the fourth song is still recorded by their ex-member behind the snare – same for the song “Angelfire”… anyway… all these band members have such a huge music potential, that everything that they create, sounds so awesome … like the two next songs to come! But what the hell? The last song… I don’t know how to describe it, what to express!! Two e-guitars and and acoustic guitar, such a calm male-voice, such dreamful female lyrics… I can’t remember a song, that expresses so much, that is able to make me feel so melancholic … so great … so slow … so emo … with such a best jazz and blues inspired ending! This record should be in the cd-player from everyone, who thinks to be a weak guy with his hands in his pockets! GREAT RECORD!! GREAT BAND!! 10/10
